Privacy

SiteStart is a tool web designers use to collect what they need from their clients. When a designer invites you, the designer decides what you're asked for and is responsible for that data. We store it on their behalf.

• What we store: what you type and upload on your link (answers, page text, files, colours), messages, your signature name with the time, IP address and browser, and logins you choose to share.
• Logins are encrypted before they're saved, only the designer can open them, each view is logged, and they're deleted when the project is marked launched.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
• Website pictures: when you add a website you like, its address is sent to WordPress.com's free mShots service to take a picture. Domain lookups ask public services (RDAP and Cloudflare DNS) about the address you type.
• No tracking cookies. The designer's sign-in uses one essential cookie. Visitor counts on the public homepage are cookieless and store no IP addresses.
• How long: project data stays until the designer deletes the client. Demo links are deleted after 24 hours.
• Your rights: you can ask for a copy, a correction or deletion of your data. Write to your designer or to us at the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec, Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, www.ip-rs.si).

Terms of use

• SiteStart is provided as it is and as available, without any warranty. We may change, pause or stop it at any time.
• The agreement shown on a client link is between the designer and their client. We aren't a party to it and aren't responsible for the work, prices or payments between them.
• You're responsible for what you upload. Only upload content you have the right to use, and don't share passwords you aren't allowed to share.
• To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data, lost profit, outages, errors or indirect damage. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us for SiteStart, which for clients is zero.
• Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for intent, gross negligence or harm to life or health, or your mandatory consumer rights.
• You agree to cover claims against us caused by your misuse of SiteStart or by content you upload.
• Slovenian law applies. Courts in Slovenia have jurisdiction, unless consumer law gives you another option.
